“I didn’t lose weight on the Michael Thurman 6 Week Body Makeover. It’s a big scam”. I’ve read so many post stating this and other similar complains about the Michael Thurman diet. I’m tired of people whining about not losing weight on this diet and want to address some of the issues that I’ve seen. I’m currently using the Michael Thurman makeover and am going to make an unbiased opinion about my results and what I’ve observed so for from my body makeover. Have I lost weight on the Michael Thurman body makeover? Yes, however my weight loss is not as much as others who have taken the program as I have modified the plan to better suit my needs (I eat more within my portions, however I exercise more).
The important question is: Will you lose weight?
Absolutely, as a matter of fact, you will lose A LOT of weight as long as you stick to the meal plan. Even though many people complain about this program, the majority of the times they claim that they HAVE lost weight. Isn’t that the whole point of the program? I guess everyone needs something to complain about because even though they’ve stated that they lost weight, they still need to complain about a certain aspect of the program.
What is the reason why you’ll lose weight on the Michael Thurman Six Week Body Makeover?
It’s because you are eating more meals throughout the day…well I wouldn’t call them meals because the portions are considered more like snacks to me. However, because you are eating around 6 small meals a day, you won’t feel hungry as it feels like you are constantly eating. This is why the Michael Thurman program works so well. Your metabolism gets tricked into thinking that there is no shortage of food and will burn calories (energy) at a faster rate.
Many people complain that the diet is too restrictive.
I agree that this diet is restrictive, especially for body types A, B & C. These diets are restrictive because they are DIETS. That’s whole part about losing weight, it’s not supposed to be about eating everything that you want and eating unhealthy foods (that’s the reason why you gained weight and want to diet in the first place). I would say that once you are committed to losing weight, then you should start the program. This meal plan is going to kick your butt, however you will lose a lot of weight fast and the results are well worth it. So it all depends on this question, “how much are you willing to sacrifice to have a health and thinner body?” Are you willing to give up the chocolate bar or scoop of double fudge ice cream? Some people say that the diet is too restrictive and that they need to wean into the diet. I believe that these people have not fully committed themselves to losing weight and will fail, REGARDLESS of what diet they are on.
Sure you can buy processed, prepackaged and frozen meals and have a variety of foods (these meals have high calories by the way, the portions are just smaller). You will pay a ton for microwave lean cuisines and will end up eating three of them which defeats the purpose of buying small portions in the first place. You need to be disciplined and most people don’t have what it takes to lose weight.
Many people want to lose weight without doing anything. Everyone is always looking for the easy way out in life and the convenient way. So many people are lazy and will consider liposuction over exercise to lose fat. These type of people do not deserve to lose weight and probably won’t because they are always seeking the “magic bullet”.
The Michael Thurman Six Week Body Makeover teaches you how to eat healthy for a lifetime, not just for a short duration of time. I think of the meal plans as a common sense solution to losing weight. It’s very simple: eat less, eat healthy and exercise a bit and you will lose weight. Here’s an even simpler model: Output of calories should be greater than your input of calories equals weight loss.
You won’t lose a ton of weight overnight, but you will lose weight in the long run…and that’s what everyone should shoot for. In the long-run, once you learn how to eat healthy and exercise more, you will keep the weight off indefinitely. Look at stars like Kristie Alley who’s endorsed such products as Jenny Craig. Yes, she lost weight…but now look at her! She’s ready to explode!
The main point is that you will lose weight on the Michael Thurman diet, that’s only IF you follow the meal plan. The people who say they didn’t lose weight did not follow the Michael Thurman plan. If they honestly had to answer the question “did you follow the meal plan?” I’m sure they would say no. The Michael Thurman meal plan is a no brainer and it’s inevitable that you will lose weight. All body types will lose weight as the intake of calories will be less than the output of calories.
Also, people complain that they gain all the weight back when they go off the diet. Well, what do you expect? You are eating healthy and then suddenly you start eating fried brownies, of course you’re going to gain all the weight back. This whole meal plan is about eating healthy for the long-run. It’s not a fad diet that will make you lose weight fast. This program will teach you how to eat healthy so that you can stay lean forever on the Michael Thurman 6 Week body makeover.
Losing weight on the Michael Thurman 6 Week Body Makeover can be easy following the body blue print cards. Here is an example of a step by step guide of how to blue print your problem areas using the body blueprint cards that are provided in each Michael Thurmond 6 Week Body Makeover .
Once you figure out your body type, it is time to blue print each of your individual problem areas to get a better understanding of how to reduce fat on these areas. This part of the program allow yous to pick the specific parts of your body that you’d like to change so you can make a plan to gain lean muscle on these areas, which will help you burn more fat.
First you will start out with body sculpting cards which will let you determine what type of body you have. Also, the cards will determine where your problem areas are. You will then create a custom body sculpting routine which will target every problem area. Once you know which areas you need to work on, you will do a customized workout routine which will only require about 30 minutes of your time a WEEK. This is all it will take to reshape your body and get the beautiful body that you’ve always wanted.
1st Step: Layout the Body BluePrint Cards
First you will need to locate the body blueprint cards that are included in your body makeover kit. These cards are blue and have body parts drawn on them. The cards come divided up by gender. The cards have a dark and light side…you will have to make sure that each dark side is facing up.
Next, you will organize each of the sections into complete bodies, make sure you arrange all cards by numbers (i.e. upper body part #1, middle body part #1, lower body part #1).
Step 2: Pick the Body Which Most Resembles You
Examine the cards and determine which body type you most resemble. All three of the cards might not match exactly but try and get as close as possible to your overall body type. Once you find the cards that mostly resemble your body, slide the other cards away and make two piles.
Step 3: Look Through Remaining Cards and Customize Your Body Blue Print
Now that you have a close match to your body type, look through the remaining cards to fully customize your body type. Pick up all the remaining cards and match them to each body section and determine whether there is a better fit for your body type. Make sure to read all of the problem callouts on each card to see if the other cards match your problem areas. If it does, replace your original selection with the new card. (Note the callouts will say phrases such as, “flabby arms with loose skin hanging under arms”).
Each section has a number on the right hand side of the card. Get the Body Makeover Book and grab the exercises that match the numbers on each card. All of these exercises are customized based on your problem areas. This can target all of your problem areas and not worry about doing additional exercise that will waste your time and increase muscle in areas where you don’t want more muscle and bulk.
Step 4: Assemble Your Body Makeover Book
Unwrap your body makeover book contents, make sure not to shuffle the order of the pages. Insert the title cards and table of contents. Assemble your custom eating plan and add your dining out guide, the accelerated fat burning, and accelerated body sculpting sections.
Creat your custom body sculpting plan (as stated above). Create your 18-minute workout by matching the targeted sculpting movement numbers listed beside each exercise in your custom body sculpting plan with the matching flip chart pages in the 18 minute workout section.
Assemble the last three sections, which are the tracking your success, making it foolproof and living lean books. Lastly, add the infinite menu planner and check the order of each section.
